I cant go into more detail because of spoilers, but there were definitely parts that I felt were very minor in comparison to the major plot points we still needed to get through. I am looking forward for what will come next though, because I do want to find out what happened during the four months that Grace was frozen with Hudson. Also, wow I get that the author was trying to get the readers to be less into Grace and Jaxons relationship but it didnt work at all for me. Yes, they both start out with a human girl and a vampire guy, but Grace isnt human shes a powerful gargoyle and she has been thrown headfirst into a world she had no idea existed. Flint is angry at the hand that life has dealt him, Jaxon is quickly becoming unrecognisable, and Hudson is shutting down. However, her connection to Jaxon runs so much deeper than on a schoolgirl crush level, she is his mate. As theyre struggling to pick up the pieces of what remains of their lives, theyre essentially put back on the run, and this time, there arent very many places for them to go. Jaxon comes across as cruel and arrogant but, as the story progresses, we learn that he is torturing himself for killing his brother, Hudson. He accepts all of her and pushes her to be stronger, independent, yet still will risk it all for her if its a last resort but he always trusts her to fight her own battles, I thought Flint was gonna be a problem, so I looked for spoilers and now I dont wanna finish the first book. Grace and crew barely escaped the last battle with their lives. Crush, moreso than Crave, really delivers on a promise of a heroine that can save herself and the ones she loves. and our Grace is more than a human. . That has to count for something and Grace loves her gargoyle and Hudson showed Grace to love her for herself. Yes, she needs help sometimes, but she never needs protection or saving. How can Grace be mated to two different people at once??
